random things.

i was told i could become a member of the devo squad if i shell out $25 clams. i have decided that it seems sort of pointless to pay that kind of money on a band i love when i assume they should just consider me part of their devo squad for listening to their music.

not only that, but the new pornographers are coming to boise in september. cameron freaked out and said he wants to go. i actually sort of want to go myself, except they are $23 a ticket. i most likely will still get a ticket, considering a.c. newman stares at me everyday as i get ready for work. its a rather fascinating process.

i hung out with cameron last night. we are perfecting out this song that we made up the other day. the style is somewhat weirder than our usual, but i like that about it. it sort of reminds me of what i could imagine from half japanese to possibly camper van beethoven or a slight don caballero influence. either way, the synths are attacking the music full force. that's all cam wants in every song now. "how can we add some synth to this?" its rather funny.

i woke up this morning not feeling too hot. i'm assuming it will go away by around lunch, but as for now i've got a slight headache and a little bit of a tummy ache as well. i assume that it is probably from a couple days of being in the sun too long. either way, i'm blaming it on the random skunk that lives in our front yard.

congrats to tracy on the new job. if i get enough time tonight, i will get you the celebratory drink and hug for such awesome new endeavors. if not, then this might have to wait until the weekend sometime. it seems that the band stuff has been kicking back in full force and that time is being eaten away quickly, as you'd imagine it to be in a game of hungry hungry hippos. i just really wanted to say hungry hungry hippos.

also, congrats to mable on all the new opportunities coming through. i am glad this move has brought you into a new perspective, and that it has been treating you so well. go for everything and snag it with your lasso....

the man that has made his own town within another town is sending me these buttons that say, "i kissed a stranger." here is what mike haeg has to say about them:

10 packs of 10 "i kissed a stranger" buttons to be distributed to 10 people. Their mission is to take a button, kiss a willing stranger, and pass the bag to said stranger. Said stranger, in turn, takes a button, must kiss a willing stranger, and pass the bag on until all of the buttons are gone. You putzes who still have the unopenned packages from last year sitting on your kleenex-littered nightstands are inelligible. Limited to the first 10 new requestors.

in other words, prepare to distribute and pucker up. don't you worry none, there is one person that gets quite a few kisses, although i suppose he isn't a stranger...

to those who have yet to see mike haeg's awesome site too for his town's paper, here it is: http://www.mountholly-lamano.com/
it seriously is sort of cute and brilliant. i wish my family had its own little town to call their own...
