the news, the news, the news.

so many weird stories, as of late, it seems. with roadways caving in, drunk astronauts, private reporters being caught, and now an earthquake in utah that has trapped some miners into a cave, it seems as though it is the relived "baby in the well" sorts of scenerios that keep coming to my mind. what a strange couple of weeks, right?

outside of this though, the weekend was wonderful. jake's party was very fun, as well as pleen's brother/sister in law's birthday festivities. it only reaffirms my knowledge that life really is fantastic, despite any low points you might ever endure. it also reaffirms the fact that i am in love with such a strong man, who has been going through some difficult times, but always rises above. his spirit is uplifting, his knowledge is vast and plenty, and he always knows how to make people laugh and become overjoyed with existing in this world. he is, indeed, a very beautiful earthling.

my plans for today? well, while it is tempting to try to snatch a goose while biking, i am thinking that i must take advantage of the fact that the weather is a bit less insanely hot today. perhaps floating the river, going on a bike ride, taking a walk, or maybe just simply going out and doing something different for once is indeed in order. i'm not sure what different plans i could make for once, but i am thinking that it would be rather lovely to possibly go to the art museum if they have a decent exhibit going. if not, possibly going to the bookstore and looking at some various craft books, science fiction, and various music magazines. there have been quite a few books that i've been noticing getting some press (one that the author recently wrote to me on and claimed as "along the lines of denis johnson," which gathered some of my attention). either way i am thinking that what has kept my spirits up lately has been the idea of doing things, then spending the rest of the time staying at home. sometimes my spells of hermitness go beyond what is most likely healthy. while i do like to sew and crochet all the darned time, as well as write, draw, play guitar, or whatever else ends up happening, it is rather nice to go outside and take in this world that i'm living in. i suppose that is why things have been so fantastic lately. all i know is that:
a) i found my amazing rubber duckies shower curtain.
b) i actually removed an item from my trunk. seriously.
c) i'm one of the only people here, it seems
d) geese are indeed very difficult to catch while biking
e) i am a very lucky woman
f) smog (the weather, not the band) is very, very lame
g) smog (the band) is actually pretty good
h) still the first letter of my name
i) i hope to live the rest of my days with you. all of you. especially you. yes. you. YOU!
