all over the place i keep hearing the same thing. "oh, its okay...not as good as talkie walkie, and not as good as 10,000 hz legend" (which is my least favorite, actually)...this is my full on review of the album. take it as you want to. you can check it out at http://ksoze.blogspot.com/2007/03/air-pocket-symphony-2007.html for free)
song list:
1. space maker
2. once upon a time
3. one hell of a party
4. napalm love
5. mayfair song
6. left bank
7. photograph
8. mer du japon
currently there is no song off this album that i particularly don't like. none of the tracks necessarily stand out, but they all flow together seemlessly. songs such as, "space maker" or "left bank" could be used in yet another virgin suicides kind of movie. easily. the tracks are perfect for a beautiful summer day, a drive in the rain, a bike ride that leads you to your favorite passionate memories. of course it still has that talkie walkie feeling kind of groove in the sense that there are those fantastic background vocals, high pitched and melodic. i give this album much more cred than i've been hearing in the press. i really like this...and maybe its because it flows so swimmingly, without trying to have a song that you can claim as "the next big thing." talkie walkie was amazing, but i had this sensation that there were particular songs that they focused attention as being, well, the next big thing..."biological," "run," or say the all famous "cherry blossom girl." with this album, it seems to exist. it seems to just be an album of calm melodies, of music that some could say is "sleepy time music." if you don't want a soothing album, definitely don't buy this. it is very soothing, very relaxing...its not made to get you into any sort of major groove. it's not going to be like a chemical brothers or daft punk album. it will be more along the lines of what you might think of when you think of, say, the virgin suicides soundtrack. stars of the lid/the dead texan style melodies. i love this album. especially for the song, "photograph"..."the angels cry to have your photograph"...i mean, my god. something about lines like that just kill me. goddamn you air. goddamn you. i always think i figured you all out, but you always catch me with something like that...
here's the lyrics to the song:
I would like to own your photograph
The angels cry to have your photograph
As if you were awfully made for life
As fortune favor fools like candle light
I would like to own your autograph
The angels fight to own your photograph
But you reckon on the photograph
Look at you provision on the night
my god. it kills me everytime...anyways, yeah. music blog. i know you people expect more out of me, so here you go.

don't love us for who we are, but what we wish we were.

eat our cupcakes

drink our wine

paint the images of our longing,

while listening to this amazing album,

and hanging out with this dude. look at his pinky ring.

your shiny bronze heart, captured in the beauty of a thousand sea turtles

watch them as they swim. watch them become your high priced splendor of corporate mediocrity (otherwise known as your new gucci handbag and fashionable battery operated battery installer).

the coincidences between us all seem so real, so vaguely familiar within the spectrum of sophistication...

except for people that wear tye-dye. or maybe even more so.
i have absolutely no idea what any of this means.
